Mikro Kosmos / participative neighborhood project. Revitalisation of a central empty lot. Designing a Community Place by and for the Neighborhood.

Suggestions for the use of the empty lot, which has been unused for 25 years, have been collected in idea-workshops. In the following months, the empty lot served as an open construction site, meeting place and venue. The ideas of the residents were implemented in a joint building process and events were implemented with and by the inhabitants of the “Kosmosviertel”.

Thus, in addition to the central pavilion, a miniature golf course, a mobile kitchen, as well as a raised bed garden and seating were built. In order to allow the older generation to visit the newly created place, a 20-meter-long wooden footbridge was also installed.
